Info Salons Middle East – a global leader of event registration and database management solutions, and Konduko – Swiss-based pioneer of smart event technologies and visitor engagement insights, have been shortlisted for this year’s Middle East Event Award for Best Use of Technology. The smart event solution was used to great success during February’s Middle East Electricity Exhibition 2017, with in excess of 80% of visitors and 90% of exhibitors using the system to connect during the show, generating more than 100,000 interactions.
The smart event concept by Konduko and Info Salons combines touch-based interaction tools – a NFC-enabled visitor badge and a connected reader on an exhibitor’s stand – to create an easy exchange of data on the show floor. A simple touch of the badge against the reader and data changes hands: exhibitors secure better quality leads and analytics while visitors receive information and content they opted in for. Trade show organisers are getting deeper insights into the performance of the event. Together the Konduko and Info Salons partnership has rolled out the smart event concept across 6 countries, including 11 events in the Middle East and Asia alone, since 2015.
Jo-Anne Kelleway, CEO and Founder of Info Salons, says the smart event concept achieves results not seen by any other event technology: ”Over the years we’ve seen all kinds of event apps and lead retrieval systems try to crack the market. But only one solution consistently achieves better than 80% usage by visitors on the show floor and more than 90% of exhibitor penetration – the Smart Event solution devised by Konduko. At MEE 2017, the engagement we captured across the entire event was at such a high level that the organiser was able to gather a deeper level of insight into the interests and behavior of visitors and exhibitors, which they can drive into planning for next year’s show.“
Ed Johnson, Marketing Manager from Informa, organiser of the Middle East Electricity Exhibition said: “For us, as organisers, Konduko has allowed us to get a detailed understanding of how traffic moves through the event, which exhibitors attract the most visitors, what features were a success, and which perhaps were not. It leads us to make data-driven decisions about how we put together the exhibition – in short an invaluable tool for anyone that organises events.”
Info Salons Middle East and Konduko have teamed up since April 2016 to promote the smart event concept and revolutionise the way events communicate. Konduko is used at leading tradeshows to maximise engagement and user experience.
The Middle East Event Awards Ceremony will take place on May 18 during the Middle East Event Show, which runs from 17 – 18 May, 2017 at the Festival Arena in Dubai.
